The Author’s Road to Cuenca: I moved to Cuenca, Ecuador from Seattle, Washington in December of 2013. My primary motives were three-fold: 1) So that the remainder of my life would be a stimulating adventure, not a fade-out 2) To avoid the extensive and distressing social, governmental and political changes occurring in the U.S 3) To enjoy a lower everyday cost-of-living that enabled more indulgences and travel. Now, being well-settled in Cuenca, I have a terrific cadre of both expat and Ecuadorian friends who continually share experiences with one another about theirs and other expat’s relocations to Ecuador. What I’ve learned from all that plus my personal experience in re-locating to Ecuador form the basis for the subjects and ideas I cover in “Relocating to Ecuador- Eyes Wide OPEN”
