Join Esteban Arévalo for our upcoming Saturday Salon where he will talk about the different rituals and ceremonial dress of "el diablo" and what the significance means in various indigenous-mestizo areas of the Ecuadorian Andes. He will bring in actual masks and clothing used in the much celebrated ceremony, "La Diablada de Píllaro", which is a yearly event in the pueblo of Píllaro just north of Baños de Ambato. This salon will not only be very informative but interactive as well. We may even be able to talk Esteban into sharing a dance or two as he is a professional Andean folkloric dancer!
