It’s that time again…ROAD TRIP! Join idiomART & CCC Spanish for our 2nd excursion through the picturesque Paute Valley to Sevilla de Oro! In this trip, you will go on a guided boat trip along the 32 km of the dam and learn about the different birds and other flora and fauna, take a tour of the dam and finish it off with a traditional meal at a renovated hacienda!
The area has an interesting story. Many years ago, the Ecuadorian government built a hydroelectric dam and the community was forced to deal with the repercussions. Rather than just sit around and complain, they got together and decided to live the old adage “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” They started a community tourism project and decided to take advantage of the dam!
