Cultural Road Trip: Saraguro
Welcome to Saraguro! During this cultural road trip, you will get to experience the artisan and artistic cultural of this indigenous village! Saraguro is nestled in the Andean mountains and is a pueblo that is deeply rooted in its cultural and indigenous roots.
Places and people you will visit:
– Traditional Saraguro hat maker, José Sarango, and his workshop in the Tuncarta community.
– Visit Adelina Ambuludà and learn about the traditional ways she and her people dye fiber and weave.
– Enjoy some traditional Andean music with local musicians, Baudilio & Yarik Quzhpe.
– Eat a traditional and delicious meal at La Muguna
– Visit indigenous painter, Luis Lozano’s art studio
– Go to the Mirador de Castellón
As you can see, this is an incredibly cultural adventure where you will get to experience and learn the magic and mystery of the Saraguro people!
