As many of you know, Jim Gala founded The Jazz Society of Ecuador and its performance venue, the Jazz Society Café, 10 years ago, adding jazz, “America’s original art form” to the many cultural assets of Cuenca, Ecuador. Jim has also mentored young Ecuadorian musicians in the art of jazz via The Jazz Society of Ecuador School of Improvisation.
Saturday, April 30th is “International Jazz Day” worldwide. Jazz events from almost every nation on earth will be live-streamed on that day. Herbie Hancock has asked Jim personally, and The Jazz Society of Ecuador to represent International Jazz Day in Ecuador for the 10th straight year.
Join us in celebrating International Jazz Day on Saturday, April 30th at the Jazz Society Café where the Jim Gala Trio with singer Mariangel Mundaray plus special guest artists will be performing starting at 7:00pm. Please support jazz, “America’s original art form” in Cuenca. We hope to see you there!
