2022 has been a very big year for YapaTree. Sales of our discount card have been steadily increasing each month and we’ve increased the total number of businesses participating to 50.
Part of this growth is directly attributed to our relationship with Cuenca Coworking Club “CCC”. We’ve now formalized our relationship with Cuenca Coworking Club and this article is to provide an overview of what this means for our partners & customers.
Cuenca Coworking Club
Brainchild of Diego Molina & Joseph Kennedy, the Cuenca Coworking Club is a nomadic style club that works from different locations each week. They mainly choose cafes, but the emphasis is on supporting different venues each week. We’ve even hosted the club at idiomART.
The main problem they solve is loneliness amongst remote workers. As a long-term remote worker & digital nomad myself, I can attest to this being a real problem. I’ve personally wanted to see a club like this blossom in Cuenca and that’s a core reason we’re supporting this initiative – to help grow the Cuenca digital nomad / remote worker scene.

The “Black” CCC YapaTree Card
In addition to our regular purple YapaTree Discount Card, we’re introducing a black design that members of the CCC can purchase. The only difference with this card is the design to the front of the card – the back is very similar to the standard version. Holders of the black CCC card have the same access to deals in Cuenca that members of the standard YapaTree card receive.
More Deals for Cardholders
Given CCC meets at many of Cuenca’s best cafes & restaurants for their weekly events, this naturally leads to conversations around how these venues can attract more remote workers. And, YapaTree is one of the most cost effective ways for these businesses to reach these workers. This natural synergy has led to numerous CCC host venues becoming members of the YapaTree Discount Card program.
Our usual quality assurance process when selecting new card partners is still adhered too. I’m comfortable arguing that accommodating 30 or 40 digital nomad type customers is a good stress test for us to decide whether the business is a good fit for the card program.
Where to Purchase a Black CCC YapaTree Card
You’ll need to join the Cuenca Coworking Club on WhatsApp first. Then you’ll be invited to purchase a card. Please note that it’s not mandatory to purchase a card to join CCC.
Regular cards can still be purchased via the regular channels (online with Paypal or in-store with cash).
