Rick Segreda

Ricardo Segreda is an Ecuadorian-American professional movie critic, travel writer, filmmaker, screenwriting instructor, publicist, translator, and event organizer. He has published over 600 film reviews and stories about the international film industry, and he has hosted conferences with such notable directors as Darren Aronofsky (“Black Swan”) and media icons such as graphic design legend, Milton Glaser. He has also interviewed film veterans such as Michael Apted (“Gorillas in the Mist,” the “7-Up” documentaries) and Oscar-nominee, John Sayles. He provided the Spanish-language subtitles for British filmmaker (and rock video pioneer) Steve Barron’s award-winning independent film, “Choking Man,” and supervised the Spanish subtitling for the Frederick Marx documentary, “Journey from Zanskar,” narrated by Richard Gere and featuring the Dalai Lama. As a publicist, he has worked for Julie Belafonte’s production company, Cimarron Cinema, which includes the film, “Rhythm of Fire,” with Danny Glover, and the award-winning, “Flags,Feathers, and Lies.”
