If you want to meet the coolest animal lovers in Cuenca and contribute your time, talent and/or resources, mark your calendars for Saturday, September 17th from 9:30 – 2:30 PM.
We’ll begin the day with a continental breakfast at a volunteer home in Cuenca, (behind Common Grounds) where you’ll learn about FAAN, animal rescue, and meet other volunteers. You’ll also learn about the diverse and flexible volunteer positions available through FAAN.
A private van will then take us to our temporary shelter in the Tarqui Mountains, where you’ll be matched with one of our amazing 130 dogs for a 45-minute walk in the beautiful mountains. Your 4-legged friend will be so grateful for the exercise and companionship. A “Puparazi” tour of the shelter and photos with the pack will be followed by a box lunch, where you’ll learn about local traditions and natural healing from our neighboring foundation.
This volunteer adventure is fully funded by a community member and a $10 donation is requested to go directly to FAAN to support the move and sustainability of a permanent shelter. *We also have a list of supplies that you can bring with you for donation on the trip. *For the Event and FAAN Volunteer Kit and to reserve to save your space by September 10th, contact Rosemary and Barry at [email protected] September 17th from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM, $10, Tarqui Mountains & Shelter, Cuenca.
