Transportation advice from Cuence to Vilcabamba Feb 6

Hola all, My wife and I are going to Vilcabamba on Feb 6. We can take the Izcayluma van that leaves Cuenca at 1:30pm, but we wish we could leave much earlier so we have more time there. Anyone going to Vilcabamba that day, by chance, who wants to share the cost?
Any other suggestions on how to get there? My understanding is that local buses take 2 hours longer (maybe around 6 hrs, so that doesn’t seem like a great option).

In my experience travelling to Vilcabamba, the shuttle from Cigale is the best option available for the price. If you want to hire a private van you can do so on at a number of places off Remigio Crespo and Unidad Nacional. It will cost more but you can leave when you want. The bus in painfully slow and you will need to get another bus or cab once you arrive in Loja to get to Vilcabamba
