Join Juan Garcia of San Antonio de Ibarra in the last Saturday Salon at our current idiomART location.
Ibarra is a small pueblo with a rich history of generations of wood carvers. Most of the craftspeople learn at a very young age. Juan Garcia began as a young boy sweeping the floors, as the years went by he was able to work his way up until one day he was allowed to carve for the first time. He is now a renowned wood carver and has transformed the craft into incredible works of art. He will talk about this tradition, his story and finish with a live carving demonstration.
