ART OPENING with Artists Maite Eusebio & Magy Peña
Thursday, Oct. 13
6:00 – 8:00 pm
Free“A Day in the Life of Ecuador”, by artist Maite Eusebio of Peru, is a vibrant collection of oil paintings that depict day-to-day life in Ecuador.
“Weaving Mysteries”, by artist Magy Peña of Cuenca, is a colorful and intricate collection of textiles that relate the mysteries of sacred geometry, crop circles and symbolism. Magy is also a teacher and will be sharing the gallery with her student, Laura Ogle.
Professional singer, Christian Castro of Cuenca, will share his musical talent with a captivating repertoire of pop opera, in the stylings of Il Divo and Andrea Bocelli.
TULLPUNA NIGHTS with artist Cristian Leon and Victor Rexach

3:00 – 6:00 pm
$35 (all materials included plus a complimentary glass of wine)With the help of resident artist, Cristian Leon, you will paint succulents. You will have examples to paint and Cristian will help you as much or as little as you like.
CULTURAL ROAD TRIP
Sunday, Oct. 16
8:30 am – late afternoon
$50 (includes breakfast, lunch, transportation, guides, wine tasting)Join CCC Spanish on a cultural road trip to Jima, just 45 km outside of Cuenca. On this cultural road trip, you will experience the beauty and tranquility of this cultural heritage site. You will go on a short, 20-minute walk to the Zhimazhuma Lookout (Loma de Maíz) and Cañari cemetary. From there you will visit the historic center and ancient church. After enjoying a delicious lunch (vegetarian options available!), you will get to taste a variety of artisanal fruit wines made at a local finca. You will come home in the afternoon with great stories to tell your friends! *road trip is in Spanish
LIVE MODEL DRAWING

$3 at the doorIn this event, we will have a live model that artists, students, novices and hobby drawers will have the opportunity to draw. No experience is needed. Don’t want to draw? No worries, observers welcome too. We will have live music as well. This is an event not to be missed.
WINE TASTING & TAPAS
Saturday, Oct. 22
3:00 – 7:00 pm
$55The arts are a way to tantalize the senses and this event is sure to do just that. You will taste 8 different wines from France, California, South America, Italy, Australia and Spain. Each wine will be paired with an artfully prepared tapa to bring out the flavors of both the wine and the food. While these complex flavors entice your senses, beautiful live background music will float through the air, bringing your experience to another level.

$5 at the doorAll of us have stories and many of us enjoy sharing them, while others enjoy listening. Sometimes we struggle with shyness or even feeling like nobody wants to hear our story. Others may have stories they want to share beyond their circle of friends and family, but don’t know where. Our Storytelling Open Mic at idiomART is the perfect venue for you!
All levels and ages are welcome. All storytellers and listeners welcome.
