This is going to be a really fun, 2-day workshop led by Kimberley Wood and Mr. Paper of “Papel a Mano”.
For the first day, you will go to Papel a Mano’s studio to make your own paper! You will make sheets of plain paper with inclusions of flowers leaves, thread, etc. and colored paper.
On the second day, you will come to idiomART and learn how to make a hard-cover Japanese stab binding book with your handmade paper as well as a soft-cover book using an advanced design, stab binding pattern.
The workshop is April 25 & 26 from 10:00 – 3:00
$100 (includes all materials)

* For the workshop, Mr. Paper will start 3 days prior preparing the pulp for the homemade paper. He will cook rinse and beat the pulp in the hollander beater, which takes approximately 6 hours per pound of pulp and the average workshop participant uses 3/4 – 1 lb. of pulp per day. Thanks Mr. Paper!
