      The nationwide holiday of Carnaval just ended and, between the silly string, water fights, parades, masks and abundance of pork dishes, what is it all about??

      Join Berenice Cárdenas for our next Saturday Salon: “Carnaval! What’s It All About?” where she will unravel these mysteries for you. You may be surprised to learn that Carnaval is a lot more than a nationwide water fight!

      Berenice is from Cuenca, Ecuador and has a master’s degree in Art History from the University of Chile. Berenice is an independent art historian, researcher, lecturer, teacher, translator, and writer with interests in Latin American Colonial Art, Baroque Iconography, Female Iconography in the Renaissance period and Handicrafts in the Latin American Colonial Period. She has given a number of Saturday Salon lectures at idiomART to a packed house every time!
