Come with us to visit Gualaceo and explore the Makana Museum, have lunch and then for an afternoon of shopping in Chordeleg and explore the famous artisanal jewelry shops.
We meet at the foundation for breakfast at 8:30 and then take the 45 minute bus ride to the Makana Museum.
At the Museum you will learn to weave and how dyes are made from natural ingredients such as insects and other materials.
You will also learn about how they work with the community and teach those living in poverty how to weave and make things to sell. You will meet those from the community.
At the end, you will get to take home something you made yourself.
Then we head to Don “Q” for a fabulous lunch. After lunch we will go for a walkabout in Chordeleg where you will explore this unique community of artisans specializing in gold and silver jewelry. If we have time, on the way back we will stop at the Orchid Farm where you can purchase orchids.
We expect to arrive back at the foundation between 4:30 and 5:00
