Prepare & Relax: An Improv Storytelling Experience
Do you love telling stories but tend to wander? Do you want to tell your stories to others but feel a little shy? Do you want to improve your storytelling overall? Then this workshop is for you!
Come and play with others preparing, relaxing, rehearsing, and having fun with your storytelling! You will work with partners and with the group learning how to fine-tune your story, getting comfortable with it, and sharing it with others. Even if you are a natural-born storyteller, this workshop can help you hone your skill, taking it to the next level.
The workshop is given by professional storyteller, Karla Freeman. She will guide you in feeling more confident at whatever stage you are at.
Come play with any version of storytelling you would like to explore (musical, poetry, fables / tall tales, personal stories etc.)
This class is a day before our Storytelling Open Mic, which is run much like a musical open mic. Storytellers and listeners come to spend an interesting evening together. Those who want to tell a story simply write their name on the list and we call them up in order. It is a very low-pressure atmosphere and the goal is to have fun and nurture the timeless art of storytelling.
If you have been wanting to participate in our Storytelling Open Mic but don’t quite feel ready, this workshop could be just the nudge you need to help you feel more confident and more prepared to share.
