Throughout history, humanity has created sounds from wood, ropes, membranes, even human breath. We’ve experimented, learned, and perfected the art of crafting musical instruments.
Construir el Sonido is an exhilarating art exhibition featuring a variety of instruments (string, wind, percussion) that are inspired by baroque, medieval and Andean styles. Each instrument is carefully crafted to be both a fully functioning instrument and a work of art.
This exhibit excites the senses and master luthier, Pablo Jacho, seeks to share the process of creation and the experience as well.
Pablo says, “Musical instruments are gateways to the mysteries of music. My passion for them fuels my exploration of diverse methods and techniques to unlock their unique sounds. Each instrument has its own captivating soundscape, transporting me to its place and time of origin. In this journey, I infuse my own aesthetics and embrace the exploration of new horizons.”
He has built and installed a large bandolin body so you can experience the feeling of being inside the instrument!
