Concert: Ancestral Sounds of Pre-Columbian Ecuador
Take a journey of the ancestral sounds of Ecuador with archaeomusicologist Esteban Valdivia. For more than a decade, Esteban has been researching Pre-Colombian music and instruments focusing on the Northern Andes region with an emphasis on Ecuadorian cultures. In this concert, he will unlock the secrets of ancestral Ecuador and perform with a variety of instruments that have survived the passage of time. Whistles, ocarinas, flutes, anthropomorphic sound statuettes, and whistling vessels will be some of the many flutes that will be presented at the concert. All these sounds will allow us to feel the history of this equatorial treasure and will help us better understand the profound wisdom of this beautiful country we call Ecuador.
