Café Ñucallacta is an absolute staple of Cuenca’s coffee scene. Owner, barista, roaster, exporter, and connoisseur Rumi Duchicela proudly brings the latest addition to the YapaTree discount card.
YapaTree card holders can now get 99cent Cappucinos at both locations.
Rumi, who is Ecuadorean-American, brought his US style and knowledge to Cuenca around a decade ago and has quickly won the hearts of those who visit his local on Hermano Miguel y Juan Jaramillo. Known for an extensive menu with a delicious blend of US and Ecuadorean classics (see below), Café Ñucallacta is ranked #11 on TripAdvisor for the best places to eat in all of Cuenca!

Farm-to-Cup Experience
Where rivals prefer to order their coffee and products into the store, Rumi takes a more involved approach, regularly driving to the south of Ecuador to purchase his coffee beans directly from farmers and their fincas. He home-roasts his beans into three different blends, each of which has become hugely popular in Cuenca, with many picking up big bags of grounds to enjoy at home. The same goes for his delicious cakes, pies, and cookies. Most of the ingredients are bought from local growers and everything is prepared and baked inside Café Ñucallacta, with the rich smells pulling people in from the street.

A Yapa Perfect for Readers & Remote Workers
Café Ñucallacta’s new discount and partnership has been designed with book-lovers and digital nomads in mind. These are two sections of visitors who typically come to the store for a few hours to either relax with some literature or get stuck into their work. A piece of cake or pie and unlimited Americanos for $5 is the perfect accompaniment for these activities. Excludes cheesecakes.
